Chinese Whispers #8
Going to change the tone a bit with this one. After messing around with some of my photos I wondered what would happen to a famous photo like the one above (Napalm Girl by Nick Ut).
So I sent the photo to fiverr seller superpummelo for him to write a Doctor Seuss style poem about it.
And here it is…
War.
I’m torn.
I’m torn by your war.

Some say that your war is an evil, necessary chore
Performed by those who loyally swore
to keep freedom free, to let free nations nreathe
I don’t know that I believe because of the faces I see.
Faces.
Faces from many places.
These faces from places that I see are seething,
Screaming, yet through it all still dreaming
of your war ending soon in some way
I too take the time to pray for that day
Time.
Too little time do I find.
The time on the ticking clock that binds us,
Reminds us that there in the dirt and the grime
We together are all equal and together we are all able
To do our part to end war’s horrific fable.
War.
I’m torn.
I’m torn by your war.
This constant fighting reminds me that for us to be worthy
We must swallow our pride and be satisfied
To trust ourselves to do what me must
And then, from our hands, wipe away the filthy dust.

Hands.
This plan needs many hands.

To stop our children from dreading, to stop violence from spreading
We must together not shirk from all of the work
That will bring nations together, save families forever
From the filthy stains of your war’s terrible pain.

Stains.
The rain even has blood stains.

I’m lost that our freedoms come at such a cost
We must avert from having more innocent children hurt
For in the mind of every little boy and little girl
Could be the idea that changes the very fabric of our world.

War.
I’m torn.
I’m torn by your war.
